Educational practice in Switzerland: Searching for diversity-engaged leadership

چکیده

Despite the uptick in awareness of racial and other sociocultural diversity owing to recent social movements particularly United States but also many countries Europe, deep understanding identity bias is lacking remedies for policy practice inequities education sector remain. Steadily increasing linguistic heterogeneity demands better on part school leaders—and larger staff—to redress inequity improve schooling all students. This study utilized in-depth interviews gather secondary leaders’ perspectives on, level engagement with, Fribourg, Switzerland. Findings revealed that leaders are, overall, inadequately prepared tackle difficult, identity-charged conversations or confront their own positionality subjectivity vis-à-vis newcomer Recommendations are made aspiring current become active by practicing diversity-engaged leadership.
